urban tigress – unapologetically bold clothing and accessories for strong women and girls!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my little business, urban tigress. I founded it in 2021 after, in the words of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, ‘My life got flipped-turned upside down.’ I had spent my whole working life in the corporate world and had assumed that my dreams of owning my own business would never happen. In 2021, I found myself in a very unexpected situation which caused me to reassess my priorities. During this period, I noticed I was doodling more and more. I had always been creative, but was lucky enough to have access to graphic designers to bring my ideas to life. I decided I wanted to teach myself to draw digitally and I really enjoyed the freedom of designing patterns that I loved.

It was then that the idea of owning my own business was cemented. I decided to call my business urban tigress because I wanted it to empower and celebrate women and girls. A tigress is fierce, courageous, bold and strong, and there are times when we all need to dig deep and unleash her in life. Nobody should be made to feel anything less than awesome, so wearing a tigress is a reminder that we do not have to stand for bad behaviour and that we can unleash her when needed to stand up for what is right. I also want to empower young girls, to remind them they have the power to do incredible things, which is why I created teeny tigress. You can twin with your mini in some of our designs.

I decided that we were all born to stand out, not fit in and my designs reflect this! If I can go from always wearing muted colours, to happily clashing my colours and prints, then you all can. Everything is designed by me, right from that first stroke of a pencil, to finding and working with suppliers, to the packaging. urban tigress is more than a brand, it’s a movement! We are a community of strong women and girls who all support each other and lift each other up.
